Wow! It has been a while since I updated, hasn't it? I guess I might as well say something. Hmmm.... Well, my router died a while back and I had a bit of downtime, but that problem was fixed with a new router. In the process, I managed to reboot taxiway and lose my uptime, so I may actually decide to upgrade my kernel soon.

In not-so-computer-related news, I finally joined b15sentra.net after lurking there for a long time(over a year). The site has been invaluable to me as a source for learning about my car. Documentation there saved me actual money, as I was able to install an aftermaket stereo system myself. I also learned how to remove my front nissan emblem and modify my stock intake for a bit more performance. Thank you b15sentra.net

I may put up a site soon showing some pics and documentation on the few and simple mods I've done to my car. Assuming I do at least a few other things to my car it could become a decent reference for other people with one of the newish se-r's.

A couple of years ago, my friend mike sent me a link to a paper. I just got around to reading it (damn, what the hell is wrong with me?) and found it to be one of the most interesting things I have ever read. It is an enlightening analysis of morals and politics, focusing on conservative and liberal areas of the political spectrum, using basic, family value metaphors. I'd like to read the book by the same author for a more in-depth analysis using the same model.

I went to comic-con yesterday and today as "Jessica Thorson". It was pretty fun, the highlight being that I got to meet the folks from penny-arcade. Woo! Yes, woo indeed.

Woo!!! School is done for the summer and I passed all my classes! Time to relax and enjoy the freedom.

I just did some major updates to taxiway (finally). Too much time has passed since I last updated the kernel, due to my rabid longing for uptime. Anyway, let me know if you have any problems.

I haven't had any updates in a while, but I have some things to post when I get a chance to gather everything up and write something about it. Check back soon.

Haven't posted any news in a while, so I think I should supply an update of some sort. Farman and I have set up taxiway to run his swapboard software. You can test it out if you want, and then we'll determine if it should be considered "production" ready. However, I'm currently working on version 2 which will have some fun new features and be incompatible with the old database layout, so don't necessarily expect your posts to be maintained when we switch to the new version. When the new version is finished, I'll do my best to restore our old posts from the slash page and any worthwhile posts from the current version of swapboard, but I'm not promising anything ;-).

Heh. I guess that April Fools joke wasn't very nice or funny, but April Fools is not about being nice or funny now is it? ;-)

I'm sad to report that I wrecked my car :(. I don't know what's wrong with me. I must be a moron. Hopefully it's not totalled. I was driving home from work and not paying attention when I broad-sided some girl in an integra. Oh god, why me. Update: This was just an April Fools joke.

In case you don't know yet, I bought an SE-R. It's a 5-speed manual in the color Nissan calls Radium. I've been driving it for a while now(past the break-in period) and I really love it. It's fun to drive and looks pretty cool. Hopefully I'll post a picture of it soon.

I'm probably going to buy a car soon. My top contender is currently the Nissan Sentra SE-R. My first test drive left me very excited. It has tight cornering and good horsepower.

In a sudden flash of nostalgia, I decided that I should go back to using irc for my chatting needs. Stupid proprietary instant messenging systems have been annoying me lately, so if you'd like to chat with me, please consider joining the #taxiway channel on irc.openprojects.net. I haven't posted an update in a while, but I have made some changes here and there. My music database is more up to date, but I'm still working on some new stuff so it might have a few problems. I also added a link to my java vorbis stuff.

In another late night hacking spree, I managed to produce the image on the front of my home page. It's a look-a-like of the cover image from Stanley Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange if you didn't know that already. For actual photos from halloween night, look here.

In all of my late night(4am) insanity, I decided to convert this entire site into xhtml 1.0 compliant code. It was a tough task, but it should pay off in the long run. Go ahead click that conformance button and tell me if it doesn't conform. I dare you! Do it!
